Tool bench
Stop hunting for those three config lines: tick the shape you want, read the cost written under the output, copy it home. Every answer in the console comes from a Java kernel actually running in your browser.
Tick only what this lesson needs: more options means more unfamiliar failures at startup. That is not the generator misbehaving — it is a real project arriving early.

</project>Why each choice matters
parentInheriting 3.3.4 starter-parent means no spring-boot-starter-* needs a version; the moment someone adds an explicit version to one starter, that one wins — the most common source of dependency drift.
WebAnything that serves HTTP needs it: DispatcherServlet, embedded Tomcat and JSON mapping come inside this starter.
ValidationWithout it @Valid silently does nothing — @NotNull on its own checks no one.
The generator does not do your thinking: it writes “why this line exists” under the output. Read those lines before you copy.
No guard rails here: every command is available. boot first, then beans, then switch jdbcOnClasspath off and watch the dependency chain collapse one layer at a time.
